C4 The Polymath - Project MK Ultra E.P
If you don't know who Manchester's C4 The Polymath is then the government must be wining. This ultra-political Hip Hop Mc is a breath of fresh air in a vastly stale world of Brostep and auto-tuned boy bands. Project MK Ultra is his latest offering and with his hard hitting flow and brutally truthful lyrics C4 The Polymath is one of the kings right now in the Manchester scene right now. Having proven he's as versatile as he is clever, by featuring on all manner of tracks including an all star Grime track with the likes of Dorris, LK, Sin-Seer, Xtra and Lady Ice, he has shown his influence stretches all the way across the pond since the mighty Diabolic has done a monster of track with him entitled Politricks Pt.II, this track is worth your money on its own let alone the other tracks. Cold World with Manchester's hardiest younger Inflict is another highlight along with Love and Money with paints a picture most of us can relate to. Rotten Apples Freestyle featuring again Inflict as well as Sin-Seer is by far one of my favourite freestyles I'v heard in a long time! I could listen to Project MK Ultra E.P. over and over and over and over again.

If your familiar with Dirtklod's Klodcasts then like me you will know these guys do this all day long and most of the night too. Sweeney, Predz, whYjay and C Dot have all earned their status's in the Grime scene as MONSTERS and I think this set just proves this. Oh and once again Driklod is flawless on the decks.

C Aye Monk - ODDiNARY E.P.
I would say for about the past seven months every time I'v bummed into C Aye Monk I'v asked him when his E.P. is out. Ever since I first saw Red iQ rip up the stage at Jehst I'v been part of the Red iQniverse and rate each and every member of the crew, but there is something special about the way C Aye Monk spits his mind altering lyrics, his flow and delivery makes him one of my highest ratted MCs in Manchester right now. ODDiNARY is by far my favourite release so far this year, its filled with that old school Hip Hop charm which we all love so much but its blended with a pinch of the future and just a dash of a psychedelic just to make your musical experience that bit tastier. The E.P. kicks off with the anthem that is Discipline 99 Pt 1 which sets the pace for the rest of this masterpiece, B Side is perhaps my favourite track on the E.P. simply because the hook is just too much to handle, I'm literally skanking around work! Step Inside is also a classic track which lets you look right inside the Monks mind, if you'v been blessed enough to see Red iQ live you will no doubt no this track off by heart just like me!

Fstar TV - Sweeney Hudz Send
Its not often I write a post at 10:25 on a Sunday but Sweeney just buried a man. Dead on contact. No question. Fstar has released Sweeney's send video for Hudz in preparation for their forthcoming clash, and let me tell you right now, Sweeney went in! Each bar was more hard that a roundhouse to face from Chuck Norris. I'm just left wondering what can Hudz say back? This is going to be a huge clash!! Keep your eyes pealed for it in the future.

Misfit Music - Button5 Album
So Manchester Hip Hop super group Misfit Music have released their new album Button5. Misfit Music members include Demz, Illatant, Notes, Kamo, Rick Charles and Briggzy. Button5 is almost a Mafia concept album, which is not a bad thing as it adds a unique 20s gangster feel to it, due to the mafia style in the skits, which I don't heard very often in Hip Hop releases. Misfit Music bring a level of swagger I'v not seen in a record for a long time, tracks like Get Em, Gentlemen's Club and So Crazy are all heavy tracks that will rip up the club. Symbol is an interesting track lyrically as its themed around superheroes, providing a great listen. My favourite track is Its Salford all down to its banging instrumental and cocky lyrics. Overall this album is a great listen and Manchester Hip Hop head will appreciate, throw your Ms in the air!

Beef Report: Shocka's Reply To Magiic
After Magiic's send to Shocka for no showing at their Words Are Weapons clash Shocka has released a reply. Its got some heavy bars which have may have reached the level Magiic set with his send. In typical Shocka style the track switches instrumental showing he has plenty of bars for war and is hungry. Although the diss is aimed mainly at Magiic there is also a bar that calls out Explicit's name as well, so I wonder if Explicit will now jump into the beef? Anyway this is a great reply and I look forward to Magiic's reply!

Stand Up North's 2012 Manchester Mc Hot List
As its a few months into 2012 and several Mcs are starting to announce projects lined up for the year I'v decided to write a 2012 Manchester Mc hot list. I'm expecting big things from Manchester this year but these artists have participially caught my eye recently. So without further to do here we go:
10. At number ten we have grime artists Creeper, he has an E.P. in the works which I'm sure will be a great release. With his previous tracks being well felt in the Grime scene I'm sure Creeper will be well received within the scene.
Like him of Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/Creepermc or follow him @creepermcr
9. Coming in at number nine we have Don't Flop battle rapper/long time grime Mc, Blizzard, with an E.P, Mixtape and album planned you can expect BIG things from this cocky 17 year old. Don't underestimate him because he will collapse your brain with his bars.
Like him on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/blizzarddubs or follow him @iamblizzard
8. Number eight is Hip Hop group Red IQ comprising of D'Lyfa Reilly, Bo'nidle and C Aye Monk. After a great year last year I hope to see a lot more of these guys. They regular play shows, I have never seen a bad set from Red IQ and I try and see them as much as I can. Make sure you see them live so you can fully appreciate them.
Like them on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/BeRedIQ or follow them @REDiQniverse
7. Hip Hop collective Misfit Music makes number seven simply for their outstanding Button5 album. Misfit Music is made up by Briggzy, Illatant, Kamo, Noted, Demz and Rick Charles. I highly recommend Misfit Music and look forward to what all artists have planed for 2012.
You can like Misfit Music on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/Misfitmusic
6. After his clash on Lord Of The Mics I'm sure Hypes will have big plans this year. With a heavy flow and hard hitting lyrics Hypes has confirmed himself as one of Manchester's best Grime Mcs and after LOTMs he will defiantly be remembered in Grime history, what happens next is down to him. I would wish him good luck but Hypes doesn't need luck, he has talent!
You can find more about Hypes on his website here:http://www.officialhypes.com/ or follow him @ManchesterHypes
5. I found it hard to pick between these two so I decided they both deserve number five, so its Grime artists Dorris & Xtra. After Less Gass More Work Dorris and Xtra stepped their game up. With both artists working on solo material 2012 is set to be a huge year. I can honestly say I have never heard a bad track from either of these pair.
You can add Dorris on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003168812498 or follow him @itsdorris
You can add Xtra on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002192927068 or follow him @mcxtra
4. Already having started the year opening for Jedi Mind Tricks The Natural Curriculum are set to have a huge year! The live performances I'v witnessed from these guys have been insane. The Natural Curriculum is made up excellent artists that together make a unique modern blend of Hip Hop. If you haven't heard TNC I highly recommend seeing them live. They have also been confirmed for Croatia's Soundwave festival so get yourself down to sunny Croatia!
Hear more of TNC live. They are so underground you wont find a Twitter or Facebook page, a few tracks are on Youtube but now much.
3. Sin Seer clocks in at number three. Sin Seer is a great Hip Hop artist who has recently branched out into Grime working with such artist as Dorris, Xtra and Lady Killa. I literately cannot wait for what Sin drops this year, with out a doubt it will be an instant classic. Keep your eyes pealed. I am.
Like Sin Seer on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sin-Seer/58347104840 or follow him @Sin_Seer
2. The legendary Grime Mc Shifty made a relatively unnoticed return into the scene last year, with a few videos he crept back in gracefully. So far he's made a few more videos with Str8Gz members that have gone down a storm in the scene. I hope Shifty regains the hype he previously had before his car accident.
You can like Shifty on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Shifty/30514718585 or follow him @ShiftyM21
1. I think only one artist deserves the number one spot, and that belongs to Meany. With the long awaited Henrys Spine finally confirmed for release the whole of Manchester better be ready, Meany's hard hitting street poetry is sure to mean Henrys Spine will be a classic release that will undoubtedly leave all completion behind.
You can like Meany on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/meanymusic or follow him @officialmeanyuk
10. At number ten we have grime artists Creeper, he has an E.P. in the works which I'm sure will be a great release. With his previous tracks being well felt in the Grime scene I'm sure Creeper will be well received within the scene.

Beef Report: Shocka vs Magiic
So Rhyme Club put on a Grime clash event called Words Are Weapons on the 25th February, one of the clashes feature was Shocka vs Magiic both from Manchester. On the night Magiic turned up and Shocka didn't meaning Magiic was instantly a winner, Magiic never got to spit his bars so he recorded this track to get his bars out there. In my opinion Magiic destroyed Shocka here! If Shocka even replies he better bring his A game on this one.

Flame - Oh No Video
Snoopy & Anoyed - Devil In My Mind (Remix) Video
Manchester Mcs Snoopy and Anoyed have teamed up to release this classic track. Produced by Yardman this remix is absolute FIRE, with Snoopy providing a catchy hook backed up by Anoyed's hard hitting street lyrics creating one of the best releases I'v heard in 2012. If you don't like this track you don't like Hip Hop. I hope to hear much of these pair in the future.
Briggzy - Toast To Rap Ft. Illatant Video
Briggzy brings us his latest video, Toast To Rap featuring fellow Misfit Music member Illatant, taken of his epic Gingerfication album this is the second track to be put onto video. The video is a sort of homage to Briggzy's music career so far in Hip Hop, featuring clips from his gig with Wu-Tang, images of his childhood and other memorable highlights for Briggzy. The video goes perfectly with track, which is about Briggzy's struggle. Toast To Rap is a great track that most fans will find a great listen, it also happens to be one of my favourite tracks to come out of the U.K. in a while. I'll toast to that.

Pockets Showcase
So Manchester artist recently created the artwork for Stand Up North so I thought I'd do a short showcase of his artwork. Pockets has a great unique style which has lead him to work with Hypes and Meany. Thanks once again to Pockets for the great job on the artwork.

Dayse & Aver - EP0001
Every so often I hear a release that I know will be considered a classic, EP0001 falls into that category. Dayse and Aver are a progressive Hip Hop group based around Manchester, they describe themselves as "the left wing splinter group of The Natural Curriculum." Even though its only twenty-six minutes long it was long enough to blow me away completely with its eerie samples and odd unique instrumentals combined with furious culturally & politically awake lyrical content. The man behind the beats, Aver, must be a musical genius. The beat structure is so unique every time I listen to the E.P. I hear something new which keeps the music consistently fresh and interesting. Dayse has an incredible flow and delivery that makes the tracks a level above other artists within the scene at the moment. EP0001 in my opinion needs to be listened in a full sitting for full effect, although each track is powerful on its own. For me the highlights include the first track, Hell Is A City, which sums up the feel of the entire E.P. with its perfect sample and odd backing track filled with strange screeches and bleeps, The Perfection Of Home, which provides a great sound track while going about your day to day activity's, No Exit, which is great tale of to rebels with undertones of brotherhood and unity and finally the E.P.'s masterpiece Human Zoo which I never tyre of hearing. Dayse & Aver are going to change the face of music forever. EP0001 is available for free download from their web page, I highly recommend downloading it, it could just be your new favourite Hip Hop E.P.

Appeal - Words Are Weapons (Double Deuce Reply)
So Appeal has released his reply to Double Deuce, a quick 16 bars to set the levels. Appeal goes in hard with a nice bar about rapeing Deuce's ex and a clever lyric about the top speed of a Volvo.
